Hello, I’m Haihong Sun
Director
Haihong is a Director at IDEO and a member of the senior management team in Shanghai. She brings over 12 years of experience working at executive level and 8 years at managerial and operational level with SOEs, MNCs and SMEs in China and US.
Prior to IDEO, Haihong founded a social enterprise, the Youth Innovation Academy, sparked passion for innovation education with young adults and educators. She led China’s S.Point industrial design in its evolution to innovation consulting, and spearheaded China launch and early growth for Continuum Innovation. Before returning to China, Haihong held various roles in technological and organizational innovation with Credit Suisse Group’s investment banking business, based in New York City.
Haihong believes in the future of “Created in China” and sees the value of design thinking to empower this transformation. She finds deep meaning in her work at IDEO as an important part of the evolutionary and revolutionary change force in China.
Haihong is passionate with fusion of art and technology. She enjoys experimenting with the likely minded on leveraging technology to innovate the preservation and inheritance of Chinese traditional folk art and crafts. She is also an avid fan of sustainable technology commercialization, when elegant technology meets sophisticated usability and interactivity.
Haihong received her undergraduate degree from Peking University in Arabic and Islamic Culture, MS in Information Systems Management from Rochester Institute of Technology and MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
